AFRICAN OASIS

AFRICAN OASIS is a hand painted batik art painted on cotton fabric using wax and batik color dyes. This painting was inspired by a picture of elephants I saw on a magazine cover and felt like painting it, I was living in Zambia, Africa at that time. The colors are set permanent by dipping the artwork fabric in hot water several times, which helps remove the wax and sets the colors permanent. The painting is dyed in only two colors, dark brown and yellow, which brings out the elephant figures vibrant and sharp.

The size of the artwork is: 22 x 44 inches and is framed in a black wooden floater frame.
