The colors are set permanent by a steaming process so they stay permanent. Wash it occasionally in cold water and mild soap, gently squeeze and rub between your palms, then rinse in cold water several times until the water is clear. Hang in shade until damp dry, then spread on wrong side, cover with a cotton sheet, and iron on silk settings for 2-3 minutes, then hang in a hanger when not using for safe keeping.
